Oh, Mickey, You're So Fine!

Today I finished an order of 50 Mickey Mouse cake truffles.To say these were quite a task, is an understatement. The first one I made was great, Then my perfectionism kicked in when I completed the second truffle. My husband, Matthew, had to keep convincing me why not to start over... *sigh*

but...

They turned out to be pretty darn cute! To see the kids' faces light up while they indulge in a Mickey Mouse cake truffle would be a better treat than these. Especially when they are celebrating a little boy's birthday at Party ExtraordinAIR! Places like that make me want to babysit for legitimate admission.

Thinking about it... I have never even seen an episode of the Mickey Mouse Club. Am I still considered an American?

When I was a little girl, you could almost always find me standing on a stool at the kitchen sink. Because of the influence of watching cooking shows with my mom, I would grab pieces of food in the sink, pretend to mix them together in the used pots, all while telling an imaginary camera my recipe step-by-step. The kitchen was my stage. I knew exactly the right ingredients, every cooking trick in the book, and never failed to create a masterpiece. Today, I am nowhere near the master chef I used to be when I was a little girl, but my imagination is still very much alive.
